Yesterday In The Garden

Two bugs were sharing a coreopsis flower.

A closeup of a common yarrow blossom, and below, a single flower from an almost spent multi-blossomed agapanthus head.

From The Fruitstand

Nothing says summer around here like California peaches from our local fruit stand.

Dusty Old Town

You'd never know from this picture, but the traffic in town is bumper to bumper going both ways for the next three months.

My Dad

My dear dad, at 17, just before he shipped out to the South Seas during World War II.  He's 88 now, was here for breakfast and roundly trounced me at Scrabble.

Waiting Patiently

If Thomas can't spot us through any of the windows when he stops by to visit, he waits on the patio until we show up.

Then he indulges in a bit of Kabuki theater, pretending he's really much too busy to trot right in.

That never lasts terribly long.

Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning means bleaching and washing the curtains.  As Thomas, the cat who visits, likes to be in the thick of things, he set up camp under the curtains drying on the patio.

Walking In The Neighborhood

A perfect late Spring day called for a walk around the neighborhood.   Blossoms were abundant and the air was filled with the scent of jasmine.

The ever watchful goose, he of the gimlet eye, rushed his fence, fussing as we passed.

The pink flowers below were bright as fireworks.

These purple star flowers bloom briefly, albeit gloriously, once a year along an otherwise nondescript fence down a back alley.
