Snowy Egret

A snowy egret caught my eye on the beach yesterday.

They usually keep to the lagoons at either end of town, resting on their way north or south along this Pacific flyway.

This one was taking a stroll along the center of the cliff face, unperturbed and casual.

It paused at one point to pluck a juicy caterpillar off a bush and then continued on its way.
