On This Day In History

On this day in history, Queen Elizabeth I ordered the arrest of Mary, Queen of Scots, Oscar Wilde was released from prison, Anne Boleyn was beheaded, and Mexico ceded California, Nevada, Utah and parts of 4 other modern day states to the US in the Treaty of Hidalgo.  Born today were Johns Hopkins (pictured above), Ho Chi Minh, Malcolm X, Pol Pot, and Andre the Giant.

I have just visited the house where it is probably Anne Boleyn was born. I didn't know until reading the history there that when she was beheaded her brother also suffered the same fate.
