What's Blooming In Summer



The little bud above opens into a surprisingly beautiful flower - the portulaca.



Although it's an annual, not a perennial, it is drought tolerant and as an added bonus, flowers of multiple colors bloom on the same plant. It's a low grower, so works best at the front of the border or in a rock garden.
