Between Storms

We've had a day of sunshine between rainstorms - a chance to get into the yard and take a closer look at what's blooming. The gophers ate most of the Dutch irises this year, but happily, the freesias are back, filling the garden with one of the sweetest scents of spring. Oddly, the one above is growing sideways, along the patio, instead of up.

This one is growing upright, while the one below is pushing its way forward through the shell ginger leaves.

I am waiting for a little sunlight, so I can see what last night's wind and rain has done. It was rather wild out there!
