Where The Boys Are

Sitting at the point where the surf breaks gave me a perfect chance to snap a few pictures of the passing surfers. They walk up past the point to paddle out in a channel between the reefs that gets them easily to the lineup.

It was late afternoon and they were all either getting off work or finally out of school, anxious to get into the water and catch their share of waves. Some took their time, others were in a hurry and couldn't get into the water fast enough.

Young and old alike, they looked to be from around 14 to 65.

Dave, below, venturing into the low 60-something degree water without a wetsuit. He usually dominates the lineup, unless my neighbor Kevin is out.
