American Old West Saloons - #16 In a Series

In La Junta, Colorado, in 1882, the barkeep and patrons gathered together outside "The Old Red Front" saloon to have their pictures taken. A sign on the building reads "Inebriate"s Home".

Thanks to the Denver Public Library for the picture.

Some of those hombres look a little rangy, can you imagine the smell if you wandered too closely...where's the Saturday night bath house!

Guess we're pretty spoiled with all the conveniences of home, but if ya don't know any different...who cares!
