A Visitor

Yesterday, in the early morning sunlight, this butterfly paused to rest on the trumpet vine that grows along the arbor.

A magnificent specimen - I have him as the centre of a jig saw puzzle!

Monarch - you could be in NZ! See some the size of tea plates here! Little too large for my liking, although butterflies are the few bugs i do like! They have such furry bodies. I'm always disentangling them from spifer webs. They lay their eggs on the swan plants in our garden and then the caterpillars get picked off by the silver eyes.
