American Country Stores ~ #17 In A Series



The year was 1914 and the town was Dawsonville, Georgia. A Ford and a horse and wagon were both parked out front of the local country store.

golden west i just bicycled through upper new york state on my way 'round lake ontario and saw general stores of indeterminate age and wondered at what was behind the peeling paint saggy porch facades. i feel the same when i look at these pics. steven

I love this series. Imagine one kid saying, I want one of those car things, and the other saying, nah, it'll never catch on, and you can't fit as many kids in the back :)
