I've just finished a story where a bird shadow was a strong metaphor. I love birds and shadows. This is a neat shot.

This bird seems to be starting his takeoff roll on the beach. It is interesting that for manned flight, the birds were studied fully to understand the principle of lift. A beautiful capture!

I love the gulls, I don't remember them as a child on the Mississippi, but we have lots of them now, as well as pelican...makes me dream of Florida!

I just saw Amanda's SSS post, so I had to see what you caught. Nice shot! Animals almost always move too fast for me. But my camera does 'burst' pictures; I guess I'll experiment and see if that helps!
