Hula Hooping For Fun & Profit

On a recent sunny winter afternoon, a professional hula hooper, equipped with a selection of hoops and a boom box, gave lessons to a beginner on the beach.

I do admire those talented enough to keep a hula hooping.

I think you'll enjoy this story:

A pro hula hooper, only in California...ha!

I remember the days of hooping and laughing at my lil' brother's attempt to get his bratty boy hips to move to the beat...ahhh, the good ol' days!

golden west - i can hold a hula hop in palce for a short while but i prefer rolling them to trying to keep them whipping 'round my waist as i perform ugly gyrations!!!! have a lovely warm day out there. steven

Hula-hoopers twist
and shake so hard you’d think that
all their bones would break!

I didn't know there was such a thing as a professional hoola hooper. It certainly makes for a great shadow shot.

I didn't even know there were professional hula-hoopers. Cool.

These shadows are great, the look of motion seen so well on the ground. A subtle sift of the hips is all it takes, but most people put too much effort into it which makes them fall. Nice capture!

Maybe you could send Miss Professional Hooper to me. I would certainly benefit from lessons on how to get rid of those extra Christmas pounds!

I so loved a hoola hoop! Great memories! And these two make wonderful shadows!

Cool shadows. It never occurred to me you could get paid for teaching someone how to use a hula hoop! If I'd have realized that sooner I might have gotten better at it. LOL

Great shot! Wish I could hula hoop!

I like how the green hoop is completely suspended and not touching anything.

I cannot hula hoop for love nor money but I wish I had taken these shots...and I am always fascinated by how one person deems it cold enough for boots whilst another wears flipflops/jandals/thongs...what do you call them?

Looks like fun! A beautiful west coast beach, too. Ahh, I'm going to miss it out here. Moving back to New Orleans next week, a whole different kind of pretty.

Professional hula hoopers? Now that's cool! If I had known about such a job when in school, that is what I would have aimed for! How fun that would be! Love this photo!

a professional hula hooper! I have never heard of such a thing before.

I've not heard of hula-hooping since my sister had the craze back in the 1960s.

I never imagined anyone could be a professional at it.

The shadows are great.
