The Streets Of San Franciso

In April 1939, a woman soldier in the Salvation Army played a guitar solo for street urchins in a San Francisco slum. The Great Depression was grinding along, year after year, as government projects failed to create prosperity.

The photograph was made by the celebrated Dorothea Lange, for the Farm Services Administration.

Beautiful guitar she's playing... But what sad, desperate times... Thank you for sharing, Golden West :o) ((HUGS))
