A Bicycle Built For One



The year was 1886, and S.C. Spier posed with his trusty bicycle, after having ridden it from New York to San Francisco in just 84 days.

That is an amazing feat! And with just one giant wheel and one tiny wheel! Hard to imagine keeping one's balance with that big wheel... And imagine how grueling that must have been back then...wow! Very interesting, Golden West! :o) ((HUGS))

We have a bicycle shop in our town and the father/son owners both have these bicycles, I never tire of seeing them ride down the streets, along with the buggy rides over old trolley tracks, it brings back a bit of nostalgia of a simpler time...neat photo!
