1970s Sunset At Swamis

This photo was taken from the cliff above Boneyard's, just north of Swamis, back in October 1972, with a point-and-click Kodak. Since then, countless pictures have been taken, and with way more sophisticated cameras, but this particular sunset picture is still my favorite, especially with the ocean drenched in gold.

It's beautiful!

Here's the thing: I took a picture of a kid pulling a sled across an iced over lake in Iceland at sunset in 1973! It was kind of blurry. The camera was cheap, I was young.

I remember that photo better than any I have taken since (with very few exceptions).

Surely photography is about how you look at things through that viewfinder.

Congrats.
